Debate on the Issue of Philippine Annexation (1899)

Objectives
To apply understandings of motives for imperialism in order to evaluate arguments for and against the acquisition of the Philippines.
To analyze U.S. expansionist policies in order to draw conclusions about the effects of imperialism on indigenous populations.

Directions
You will assume the role of one of the individuals listed at the bottom of this paper. President McKinley will summon your character to the White House to give him advice before he makes his recommendation to the Senate.
